Vivi Ornitier - Final Fantasy IX fan art

I was messing around sketching in photoshop to see how I could redesign my favorite little guy and ended up liking the idea enough to turn it into a 3D model. I also thought it would be cool to "benchmark" my progress, 11 years after my first fan art of this character in 2015.
This is fully handpainted unlit, polymodelled in blender and textured in 3Dcoat/PS.

For the redesign I took some elements I liked from various references you can see on the breakdown image. There's some stuff from Amano's original concept that I think was super cool, like the little flying plushies he made for almost every character.
